INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR TEENS
Ages 12-18. Watching your teen struggle and not knowing how to make it better for them can be very difficult. Therapy can help with supporting and addressing any underlying difficulties a teen may be experiencing at home, in school or in their relationships with others. After all, transitioning from childhood to teenage years can be a challenging time for majority of pre-teens as well as for teens who are close to transitioning into adulthood. If your teen is experiencing any of the difficulties listed below, it may be a sign that they need additional support:
Academic or school difficulties/ ADHD
Anger
Chronic fear
Difficulties with peer or sibling relationships
Difficulties eating or sleeping
Frequent lying
Impulsivity
Learning Disabilities
Loss/ Grief
Nightmares
Stress
Low Self-esteem
Low self confidence
Art therapy, play therapy, behavioral, and mindfulness techniques are utilized to support teen in developing emotional expressive language that helps identify their feelings, needs and wants in order to increase functional communication with others. Therapy can help improve their confidence, self advocacy, trusting relationships, as well as the development of healthy coping skills and problem solving skills. I provide LGBTQ affirming care.
